The Riverside High School basketball teams are scheduled to play at Lexington on Thursday, January 25. Varsity games are scheduled to start at 6 pm.


Due to recent weather conditions, the Riverside basketball schedule has several updates over the next few weeks. Fans have several opportunities to catch Lady Panther and Panther basketball action the rest of the season.


Riverside senior Jayla Davenport was voted as the Mid-Season Player of the Year in the Jackson Sun. Davenport received 43% of the votes (18,691 total votes) in the online poll this past week by the Jackson Sun. The senior is averaging 20.4 points per game, 9.2 rebounds per game, and is shooting 52.3% from the field on the season. Congratulations to Jayla on receiving such recognition for her effort and work on the basketball floor.


Tomorrow is group picture day at RHS for the following: band, choir, theater, FFA, FCCLA, HOSA, art club, book club, library assistants, student council, Panthers for Christ/FCA, Paw Shop workers.


The Decatur County School System is seeking applications for Custodial Workers. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED prior to employment and successfully pass a TBI fingerprint background screening. The applicant will also need a completed Health Screening Physical Form from a licensed Physician. Applications may be filled out online at www.decaturcountyschools.com under the Employment tab, Noncertified Application, or downloaded and sent to Hugh Smith, Human Resources Supervisor, at Decatur County Board of Education, 59 West Main Street, Decaturville, TN 38329 or emailed to hugh.smith@decaturschools.org. The deadline for submitting an application is February 2, 2024.

Students and staff WILL return to school tomorrow, January 24th at regular time! We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! Decatur County Schooks WILL be open tomorrow at regular time!


Basketball game at Liberty that was scheduled for Tuesday, January 23 has been cancelled. Makeup day will be posted when we have more information.

There will be no school in Decatur County Tuesday, January 23rd due to road conditions. We hope to be back in session on Wednesday!


Decatur County Schools will be closed on Monday, 1/22, due to hazardous road conditions. Please stay safe and warm!
