Professor Jones and his students are at it again. Chemistry 1 students used the Bunsen burners today to investigate hydrated salts. By heating these special salts students could remove water from their crystal structures and determine how much water was in the salt's crystal structure, a proper analytical procedure. This lab is an everyday staple in college chemistry classes and a safe introduction to fundamental elemental analysis.
