Mrs. Tubbs earned her Bachelor's Degree in Pre-K–6 Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee at Martin – Parsons Center before completing her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Austin Peay State University.
A lifelong member of the Decaturville Elementary family, Brittany has dedicated her entire educational career to serving the students and families of DES. Throughout the years, she has served as a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade classroom teacher, a Reading Specialist, and most recently as Assistant Principal. Her dedication, knowledge, and unwavering commitment to student success have made a lasting impact on the school community.
Mrs. Tubbs and her husband have been married for 13 years and are the proud parents of three children. When she's not at school, she enjoys reading and spending quality time with her family.

After 37 years of faithful service, Mrs. Lesia Taylor is retiring as Cafeteria Manager at Decaturville Elementary School.
For nearly four decades, Mrs. Lesia has been a familiar face to generations of students, staff, and families. Whether preparing meals, greeting students with a smile, or lending a helping hand wherever it was needed, she served our school community with kindness, dedication, and a true servant's heart. Her commitment to excellence and genuine care for others have left a lasting impact on Decaturville Elementary and Decatur County Schools.
When reflecting on her career, Mrs. Lesia simply said, "I've worked my whole life, ever since I was a young teenager. One day at a time!" That humble outlook and strong work ethic have been evident throughout her 37 years of service.
Retirement doesn't mean slowing down for Mrs. Lesia. She has already been busy canning and freezing vegetables from the garden and looks forward to enjoying the fruits of her labor this winter. Most importantly, she is excited to spend more time with her family, making memories with those she loves while enjoying this well-earned new chapter.
