EARLY LEARNING CENTER ASSISTANT. . The Decatur County School System is seeking applications for a Paraprofessional (Teacher Assistant) position for the Early Learning Center (Little Panther Academy). Applicants must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must also successfully pass a TBI Fingerprint Background check as well as a physical by a Licensed Physician. Starting the 2024-2025 school year, Decatur County Schools will be participating in the CEP program or Community Eligibility Provision meaning all Decatur County Schools students are eligible to receive a free breakfast and lunch meal at no cost. This is a program offered through USDA that any school that participates in the Nation School Breakfast and Lunch Programs can apply for and see if they qualify. This is a PILOT PROGRAM for one year for Decatur County. We hope to be able to continue for more than one year but that will depend on student participation and sustainability financially. This is great news for families in Decatur County so we wanted to go ahead and let families know. With USDA programs there are guidelines we have to follow on what and how much we can serve. We wanted to get feedback from students on what meals you would like to see served that we don’t already serve or what are some of your favorite meals. Parents, please ask your students and return any comments by Friday May 24th.
