Congratulations to the Lady Panther Golf Team!! They traveled to Pickwick this week to play in the Hardin County Golf Invitational with 20 teams participating. The girls were the winners of the tournament with a total score of 158 with Macy Bromley being 2nd medalist with a 78.
Elementary Special Education Teacher Needed
The Decatur County School System is seeking applicants for a Special Education Teaching position that would provide K-4 instruction to elementary school special education students. Only applicants with a current Tennessee teacher license with an endorsement in Special Education K-12 will be considered for the position. Job Description for Coordinated School Health Assistant
Department: Coordinated School Health
Status: Full-time
Hours: 8:00 - 3:30 with 30 minute lunch
Schedule: 10 month, Monday through Friday Location: Coordinated School Health Office Supervision: Coordinated School Health Coordinators Responsibilities
● Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
● Ability to assess health and safety needs of students, families, and school employees
● Ability to work with technology programs and equipment
● Knowledge of basic principles of research, statistics, data collection, and analysis
● Working with Coordinated School Health Coordinators to ensure compliance with district
nutrition, health services, physical education policies, and state school health laws.
● Assist with coordination of Coordinated School Health programs
● Assist with coordination of services in community projects
● Attend related school health meetings as well as meetings of local agency organizations
(Health Council)
● Assist with ordering, maintenance, and inventory of supplies
● Attend required meetings and conferences
● Assist and prepare reports in a timely manner
● Collect and record data from school systems as directed
● Other duties as assigned by the Coordinated School Health Coordinators
● Administer weekly backpack feeding program.
● Available for occasional teaching or assisting of health lessons.

Due to a driver shortage, Bus 22 will be running an hour behind this morning, 8/22. If you can bring them to school please do, but if not, the bus is coming but will be about an hour behind.

Congratulations to the Riverside High School bass fishing team on their successful tournament this weekend!
The team finished 49th out of around 20,000 boats from across the country.
The Riverside girls team is ranked #1 in the nation! They were also 49th out of 315 of the best high school fisherman/fisherwomen in the country And only missed big fish of the tournament by half a pound! Congratulation to this team and their coach, Justin Kelley!
Congratulations to all of our Panthers on a successful start to to 22’ football season at last night’s jamboree! The next home game is on THURSDAY, August 25th at 7pm against the Lexington Tigers!

We are so excited to announce the launch of our new College and Career Readiness platform, Major Clarity! Students will be able to participate in personality and skills assessments to see what options are available after high school! They will have a chance to explore careers, colleges, get help with interview skills and resume writing and search for scholarships! This program is available for 6-12 graders and will even give them a chance to earn micro-credentials!
