One of the highlights of yesterday's Teacher In-Service was an inspiring Acceleration for All panel discussion featuring sixth-grade ELA teacher Mary McBride, special education teacher Ericca King, and paraprofessional Jessica Munz. Together, they shared how collaboration transformed their classroom and ultimately helped students succeed. Perhaps the most memorable quote of the day came from Mary McBride, who reflected on their journey: “There was a moment last year when we realized we couldn’t do it alone—we had to do it together. That’s when we began seeing progress.” That simple statement perfectly captured the spirit of teamwork that defines Decatur County Schools. When teachers, support staff, and administrators work together with a shared purpose, students benefit the most. It was a powerful reminder that our greatest successes come through collaboration, trust, and a commitment to one another. Their story was an inspiring way to reinforce the message that together, we can accomplish incredible things for every student, every day.

What an incredible blessing and a well-deserved honor for Meagan Lomax! . Meagan was recently selected as 1 of only 10 teachers to participate in Delta Faucet’s “Shop with a Teacher” program after being nominated by her dad, Danny Lomax, and his coworker. Although her dad has faithfully nominated her every year since the program began, this year she was chosen—and what an exciting and meaningful experience it was! Teachers invest so much of their own time, energy, and resources into their classrooms, and opportunities like this make a real difference for both educators and students. . "This is a well-deserved honor for Meagan. She works hard every day for her students, and we’re proud to celebrate her.” — Hugh Smith, HR, Decatur County Schools . Congratulations, Meagan! Thank you, Delta Faucet, for supporting teachers. We hope you had a wonderful day shopping for your classroom and making an impact on your students! ❤️🍎
