
Students that ride bus 8 in the afternoons will not leave their schools until approximately 3:30 pm each day until further notice. Students will be supervised and monitored during this time. Thank you for your understanding.

There will be a free "yard sale" tomorrow for school clothes, shoes, and accessories from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. This will be hosted at Coordinated School Health located at 40 School Drive in Parsons.

Open house at both Parsons and Decaturville Elementary schools will be held during registration on the morning of August 1st from 7:30-9:30am. At this time, families can drop off school supplies, meet the teacher, and tour the classrooms.


There will be a special called board meeting on Tuesday, July 25th at 6pm with a board work session at 5pm in the board room at the board of education.

Freshman orientation will be held at Riverside High School on August 1st at 7:00 pm. All new students and Freshman are encouraged to attend!

The Decatur County School System is seeking applications for a Pre-ETS Transition Case Manager for Grades 9-12. Applicants must have a degree in Education, Counseling, or Social Work and have experience working with students with disabilities. This is a grant funded position for the 2023-2024 school year.
