Parsons Elementary is excited to welcome Ms. Presleigh Hatch as our newest Kindergarten Teacher!

A recent graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, Presleigh earned her degree in K-5 Elementary Education and is eager to begin her teaching career serving the students of Decatur County Schools.

During her student teaching experience, Presleigh had the opportunity to teach in both Kindergarten and third grade, but it was her Kindergarten placement at Decaturville Elementary that truly confirmed where she was meant to be. Working within Decatur County Schools allowed her to become familiar with the district's curriculum, expectations, and the caring school community she is now proud to call home.

As she begins her first year in the classroom, Presleigh's goal is to create a learning environment where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to come to school each day. She hopes to build strong relationships with her students and their families while helping each child grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

.

Kindergarten is such an exciting time because students learn so much in such a short period. I can't wait to celebrate their milestones, help them gain confidence, and create a classroom where learning is engaging, meaningful, and fun."

— Ms. Presleigh Hatch

"We are excited to welcome Presleigh to Parsons Elementary! She has a caring heart, a wonderful attitude, and a genuine love for children. We know she is going to be a great addition to our Kindergarten team and can't wait to see the relationships she builds with her students and families."

What an incredible blessing and a well-deserved honor for Meagan Lomax! . Meagan was recently selected as 1 of only 10 teachers to participate in Delta Faucet’s “Shop with a Teacher” program after being nominated by her dad, Danny Lomax, and his coworker. Although her dad has faithfully nominated her every year since the program began, this year she was chosen—and what an exciting and meaningful experience it was! Teachers invest so much of their own time, energy, and resources into their classrooms, and opportunities like this make a real difference for both educators and students. . "This is a well-deserved honor for Meagan. She works hard every day for her students, and we’re proud to celebrate her.” — Hugh Smith, HR, Decatur County Schools . Congratulations, Meagan! Thank you, Delta Faucet, for supporting teachers. We hope you had a wonderful day shopping for your classroom and making an impact on your students! ❤️🍎

.
Parsons Elementary is proud to welcome Brittany Smith as our new 2nd Grade Teacher! A 2013 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, Brittany earned her Bachelor of Science degree and has remained committed to growing as an educator through continuous learning and professional development.

Brittany brings a wealth of experience serving students in both Henderson and Decatur counties. She began her career at Pin Oak Elementary School in Henderson County, where she served as an intervention paraprofessional for two and a half years before teaching in the classroom for three and a half years.

Most recently, she worked as a long-term substitute teacher, supporting students and staff across multiple grade levels, including Pre-K, Kindergarten, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades.

These experiences have strengthened her passion for education and prepared her to create a classroom where every child feels valued, challenged, supported, and encouraged to succeed.

As she begins her new role at Parsons Elementary, Brittany's goal is to build a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions, grow academically and socially, and develop confidence in their abilities. She hopes each student leaves her classroom with a love of learning and pride in the progress they have made.

Outside the classroom, Brittany enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, traveling, reading, working on creative projects, and serving in her church. She believes education is about more than academics—it's about helping children discover their strengths and realize their potential.

I believe the strongest learning happens when schools and families work together, and I look forward to building meaningful relationships with my students, their families, and the community.
