🏆 Golden Ladder Award Celebration! 🏆
After Christmas, Ms. Ella was presented with the Golden Ladder Award for helping her students climb to the top through hard work and growth.
Following our most recent round of benchmark testing, she recognized another educator who helped his students climb even higher. During our faculty meeting on Monday, April 6, Ms. Ella proudly passed the Golden Ladder Award on to Coach Jowers for the incredible progress his students have made.
We are so proud of Coach Jowers for the impact he is making in the classroom, and we applaud Ms. Ella for celebrating the success of others and continuing the spirit of encouragement among our staff.

TN Ready testing is happening April 21–28, and we want our students to feel like rockstars! We are collecting "Good Luck" notes to deliver to students before they start state testing.
If you’d like to send a message of support, please fill out this form separately for each student by Friday, April 17. Let’s help them do their best!
(Reminder: 5th grade does not test on April 28th.)

⭐ Introducing the DCMS All S.T.A.R.s! ⭐
Students Taking Action for Resiliency
We are excited to launch a new student leadership group at DCMS focused on building a stronger, healthier school community. Our DCMS All S.T.A.R.s are students who are committed to helping their peers develop the confidence and resilience needed to stand strong against the pressures teens face today — including nicotine use.
Throughout the year, these student leaders will help spread awareness and encouragement through skits, morning announcements, poster contests, and social media campaigns designed to educate and inspire their fellow students.
At DCMS, we believe awareness is key, and our All S.T.A.R.s are ready to lead the way by showing that making healthy choices and supporting one another truly makes a difference.
We are proud of these students for stepping up to be leaders and role models in our school! 🌟
We would like to give a special thanks to Ms. Sarah Burleson, Public Health Educator with the Decatur County Health Department, and Mr. Brian Morgan, the club sponsor, for helping spearhead this initiative!
