Ms. Whitney Funderburk was selected as Decatur County Middle School’s employee of the month for January. Ms. Whitney has worked at DCMS in various capacities including teacher’s assistant in the SPED department, student help, and most recently, secretary for the front office. When asked why she was chosen as the employee of the month, Ms. Brandi Smith said, “Ms. Whitney keeps our office going with laughs, a listening ear, and always being willing to do whatever is needed to help. From her organizational skills to her ability to make students, staff, and visitors feel welcome, Ms. Whitney is definitely an asset to our school!” Ms. Whitney’s colleagues describe her as always being on top of things, and always pleasant to the students, parents, and staff. We are so proud to have Ms. Whitney Funderburk in the Decatur County School system and we look forward to her continued success at DCMS!
