Frost

Mr. Johnnie Frost has been selected as Riverside High School’s Teacher of the Month for January.  Currently, Mr. Frost teaches World History and PE as well as being the head coach of the state runner-up football team. Coach Frost as he is better known by his students and players was selected as Teacher of the Month because of his outstanding performance not only coaching football, but helping students become disciplined young men and women.  Coach Frost genuinely cares about the well-being of each student and works to develop relationships with them so he can help them reach their full potential.  In his 29 years in education, eight of which have been spent in Decatur County, Coach Frost has had the privilege of helping many students reach their full potential.  When asked why they selected Johnnie as Teacher of the Month for RHS his colleagues said, “Not because of our state championship run, but because he looks for and brings out the best in his young people.  He truly loves his students and is one of the hardest working people on campus.” Another colleague stated, “He coached RHS football to the state championship game for the first time in school history.  He is at school all the time and teaches his classes and works hard on academics just as much about sports.  He cares about the kids, the school, and the community.  He loves his wife more than is possible.”  Decatur County is lucky to have Coach Frost and the example he sets as a teacher, coach, and man for our students.  Congratulations, Coach!
