Ms. Jessica Brockman, Kindergarten teacher, was named Teacher of the Month at Decaturville Elementary School for January. Principal Melinda Thompson said, “Jessica is 100% dedicated to her students and constantly looking for ways to improve. She loves her students and is dedicated to their growth academically, emotionally, and socially. Ms. Jessica has continued to be a rock star educator as she has endured a cancer diagnosis and treatment.” Mr. Patrick Brasher said, “Ms. Jessica is an inspiration! It would be easy for someone going through what she is going through to give up or lean heavily on others, but she always holds her own!”  Her sister and fellow teacher Brittany Tubbs said, “I love working with her because she make me a better teacher! (And she's an amazing sister!!)” It is clear that Ms. Jessica is loved by many in the community and is a valuable part of the Decatur County educational family.  Through her own ongoing battle with cancer, she has never given up on her students and is always there to help in whatever capacity she is needed.  We are so proud that Ms. Jessica, a graduate of Riverside High School, chose to come back home for her career!
