Decatur County Schools

Ms. Janet Pettigrew, who teaches Jobs for America’s Graduates Tennessee (JAGTN), was named Teacher of the Month at Riverside High School for the month of December. According to fellow teachers, Ms. Janet “is an enthusiastic teacher who is always pushing her students to be their best. She is very professional with her students and teaches them how to be professional in their adult lives.  She loves the students and goes above and beyond to help them be successful.” This is Ms. Janet’s first year at Riverside, but she has taught at Decatur County Middle School and Decaturville Elementary School in her more than 25 year career in education. Riverside administration said, “She is dedicated to helping our students succeed.”  We are so proud that Ms. Janet has chosen to stay and teach in Decatur County her entire career and look forward to her reaching and education even more students for success after high school.
