Whereas the Riverside High School Panthers showed Perseverance by being state runners-up in their previous season in 2022 and whereas they dedicated themselves to Accomplish the goal of not only returning to Chattanooga but winning the state championship game in 2023 and whereas they believe their goal was possible but only by hard work and No shortcuts.  Whereas the Panthers knew Teamwork would be the only way in which they could fulfill their goal.  Football is not an individual sport, and they would either win as a team or would lose as a team and would not play the blame game.  Either way they would give God the glory.  They also knew that Hard work although is not easy or appealing, it does pay off and makes you a better player.  Whereas the Panthers always gave it their best Effort each and every play because they were accountable to each other, and whereas doing the Right thing was the right thing to do even when their opponents weren’t playing fair, or no one was watching because the Panthers know that builds character and develops champions and whereas it doesn’t matter how you start but how you finish and that is exactly what the Panthers did, they finished Strong.  It was evident every game they left it all out on the field.  Whereas the 2023 Riverside Football Team has displayed class and character on and off the football field and have, been named first ever in school history Class II A State Champions, and whereas the coaches and players have brought honor and recognition to their school and our community, on behalf of the Decatur County School Board it is an honor to say:

“IT’S GREAT TO BE A RIVERSIDE PANTHER!”

Congratulations 2023 RHS Football Team, Coaches & Staff
