Decatur County Schools

Ms. Christina Barber, high school Art teacher, was named Teacher of the Month at Riverside High School. Mrs. Whitney Crider, assistant principal, had several great things to say about Ms. Barber. “She always has a smile on her face and the students really do love having her as a teacher. She is a very positive addition to the RHS family.” Her fellow teacher said, “As a new teacher, Christina has stepped in and stepped up. She has been helpful with the UTrust program making posters, creating a new Art Club, helping with school décor, etc. She is an extremely hard worker and a great teacher. Ms. Christina is an amazing artist and is sharing her passion and skills with her students. She is patient and sees the potential in all of her students. Ms. Christina also gives of her personal time to host the Art Club during after-school hours to allow students an opportunity to better develop their art skills and to help the Drama program with their backdrops and other props.”  Ms. Christina is a wonderful addition to the Decatur County family and is very helpful to every program at RHS and in the school system.
