Decatur County Schools Weather Update:
.
Decatur County Schools is aware of concerns regarding the predicted inclement weather expected in our area today, Wednesday, March 11, 2026. After consulting with Decatur County Government and Decatur County EMA Director Andrew Sparks, the decision has been made for students to remain in school and follow the regular dismissal schedule.
.
Weather forecasts indicate the strongest portion of the storm system is expected to move through our area around early afternoon and should clear by approximately 3:00 p.m. If schools were to dismiss earlier in the day, school buses would likely be on the road during the time the most severe weather is expected.
.
For that reason, Decatur County Schools will continue to monitor conditions closely, but at this time, students will remain in school, dismissal will be at the normal time, and after-school will remain open.
.
The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we will continue working closely with local emergency management officials to monitor the situation and keep the public informed.

TCAP testing is coming up, and we will only be testing for 6 days! It is very important that students are at school each day so they can do their best.
π Bonus: Students with perfect attendance during testing will be entered into a prize drawing!
Letβs show up, do our best, and finish strong! πͺβοΈ
