Ms. Betty Smith said goodbye to the Decatur County School System as an employee this week. She started in the school system in 1986 as a cook at Parsons Jr. High. She later took a teacher’s assistant position helping in the special needs classroom and has been in the special needs classroom ever since. Ms. Betty is retiring as a 36 year veteran of the school system and she will be missed greatly. Thank you Ms. Betty for your service!





Today at our central office luncheon and meeting, we said goodbye to Ms. Ginger Teague, our coordinated school health leader. We will miss Ms. Ginger and wish her luck in her retirement and future endeavors!

The DCSS is seeking both a certified History Teacher (required 7-12 History endorsement and TN teaching license) and a teaching assistant. All must pass a background check through the TBI.
