Decatur County Schools represents a total program for our students. The entrance of Riverside High School shows evidence of excellence in this total program with a state championship in football, national championship in dance, and was named a reward school for academics.

The Decatur County School System is seeking applications for Science Teaching position. Only applicants with a current Tennessee teacher license with an endorsement in Middle School Science 6-8 and/or Secondary Science will be considered for the positions. As we close out CTE month in TN, we wanted to highlight our JAGTN program. This program prepares students for life after high school whether it be post-secondary or career. Our students, taught by Ms. Janet Pettigrew, learn skills for adulthood such as budgeting, interview and resume skills, professional dress, how to get along with coworkers and classmates, community service, scholarship and college admissions, and anything else that is relevant to life after high school. Across the state, JAGTN students received $7.5 million in scholarships in 2023. We are very proud of this program and how it prepares our students for life! #CTEmonth #JAGTN

The board is having a work session Monday at the board room at 5:30: Items on the agenda include work on 2024-2025 school budget and approve overnight field trip (taking place before next regular school board meeting).

Principal Points 2/14

RHS Theatre will present their dinner theatre on February 24th in the RHS cafeteria at 6:30pm. Tickets can be purchased through a Spring Theatre student, contacting Penny Lindsey, or at Riverside Front Office.
The Dinner Theatre is always so fun and serves good food while you enjoy watching our talented students.
Tickets only sold in advance, must be purchased before February 21st.

Any 7th grader interested in ordering a Spirit Ring needs to bring their $40 deposit tomorrow, 2/14/24. Mr. Sitton will be at DCMS at 11:00 to pickup the orders.
