The Decatur County School System is accepting applications for the position of Parsons Elementary Extended School Program Director for the 2024-2025 school year. Applicants must be 21 years old and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Applicants must also successfully pass a TBI Fingerprint Background check as well as complete a physical by a Licensed Physician. Applications may be picked up at the Board of Education or submitted online at www.decaturcountyschools.ocm under the Employment tab, Noncertified Application, and sent to Hugh Smith, Human Resources Supervisor, at Decatur County Board of Education, P.O. JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Parsons Elementary Extended School Program is responsible for planning, supporting, supervising, evaluating, and directing all aspects of afterschool programming. This position ensures program compliance with state licensing requirements and the district. The director works in partnership with the Decatur County School System, families, staff, and students to develop and execute a caring and safe program for all students and workers. The Director is responsible for ensuring that programming reflects the mission and values of the Decatur County School System.

DCMS is excited to announce Ms. Haley Harris as our incoming softball coach! Ms. Haley’s expectation of excellence in the classroom is sure to translate well to the field. With years of high school experience and coaching experience, Ms. Haley brings knowledge and passion to the game. As a teammate right here at Riverside High School, she was a part of the 2011 State Championship team and 2012 State Runner-up. Harris’ coaching experience includes coaching and umpiring in our county league program. As our newest coaching staff hire, Ms. Haley says she hopes and plans, “to positively influence and impact the entirety of the softball program in Decatur County.”

Now Hiring SPED PREK Inclusion Teacher
The Decatur County School System is seeking applicants for a PreK Special Education Inclusion Teacher that would provide instruction to VPK students with disabilities. Only applicants with a current Tennessee teacher license with an endorsement in Special Education K-12 will be considered for the position.
